1 The Case of Charles Bravo
Julian Fellowes hosts this re-creation of the unsolved murder of Charles Bravo on April 18, 1876. Bravo is determined to have dies from poisoning, but just who was the killer? Bravo had been married for only five months to his new wife Florence but already it was not a happy marriage. She had wanted to keep control of her capital but Bravo threatened not to marry her and so she agreed to give him part of her fortune, as she was desperate to be accepted in society. He had also agreed to marry her even though he knew she had a long affair with Dr. James Gully and that he performed an abortion when she became pregnant. Soon after the marriage, he fired their equerry who vowed to get revenge. There is also Florence's companion, Mrs. Cox, who may have resented the treatment of her mistress. Then there is Gully himself, who very much loved Florence but was already married. Fellowes has his own views on what happened that night, presenting his conclusions on who committed the crime that scandalized Victorian society.
2 The Case of Rose Harsent
Julian Fellowes host a re-creation of the murder of Rose Harsent who was violently killed in the home in which she worked on May 31, 1902. Rose was a housemaid and a regular attendee at Chapel. It is there that she met William Gardiner, the steward of the local church. He was married and had children but the two began spending more and more time together with Gardiner teaching her to play the organ and encouraging her to teach at Sunday school. There was a great deal of village gossip about the two, heavily promoted by one member of the community, Henry Rouse. When Rose was found to be 6 months pregnant, it only added to the heated environment and Gardiner was twice tried for her murder, but a hung jury was the result in both cases. There are several other characters, all of whom may have had a reason to kill her: her one-time fiancé, a local delivery boy and an itinerant farm worker. Although the case was never solved, Fellowes presents his own conclusions on the identity of the murderer.
3 The Case of George Harry Storrs
In this dramatic re-creation, Julian Fellowes presents the unsolved murder of George Harry Storrs. On November 1, 1909 an intruder killed Storrs during the family's evening meal. Storrs was very well off and very much a man for the 20th century. He was particularly interested in manufacturing automobiles. In middle age, he had become infatuated with and has an affair with Maria, the pretty young governess working for the family next door. They had planned a holiday together but suddenly, she ups and leaves for studies at Oxford. Maria returns but soon commits suicide and soon after Storrs begins to receive threatening notes. Storrs also had business disputes with his brother, a distant cousin to whom he had refused a job and a handyman, the friend of a household servant he fired when he caught them together. In two subsequent trials, the accused were acquitted but Fellowes presents his own views on the identity of the murderer.

4 The Case of the Croydon Poisonings
In November 1929, Violet Sydney died from what was subsequently shown to be arsenic poisoning. In fact, two other members of her family had died in the previous year, her daughter Vera and her son-in-law Edmund Duff. With those bodies subsequently exhumed, they too were found to have been poisoned. As the family matriarch, Violet was very demanding of her three children and brooked no disagreement from them. There were several suspects in the case. Edmund was married to Violet's eldest daughter Grace; a son, Thomas, was desperate to return to the USA with his American wife; Dr. Jackson, who treated all three of the deceased, was quite taken with Grace and may have had a hand in the deaths. Finally, there was also the cook who prepared the soup that killed Vera. Although the case of the Croydon poisonings was never solved, Julian Fellowes hosts this dramatic re-creation of the events and offers his own views on the likely murderer.
5 The Case of the Earl of Erroll
In the early morning hours of January 24, 1941 Joss Erroll, the 22nd Earl of Erroll, was shot through the head while his car was parked on a road just outside of Nairobi, Kenya. Erroll was known as a ladies man and he had for some time been having an affair with Diana Broughton, the young wife of Sir Jock Broughton. Their affair had become quite well known and Broughton had apparently accepted the situation having announced that he was leaving for Ceylon. After the killing, Broughton was tried and acquitted of the murder. In this dramatic re-creation of the events leading up to the shooting, Julian Fellowes adds commentary and context to the events. He identifies the killer and states that he knows for a fact this is correct as it is based on information provided to him by an impeccable source (which he will not name).
