| Catherine Morland (Kaharine Schlesinger) has spent most of her life sheltered from the world. She enjoys her reading and has pictured many exciting places in her mind. Family friends, The Allens, are about to change that. She has been invited to Bath to help the elderly couple and she eagerly accepts. Upon arriving, she meets another young woman, Eleanor (Ingrid Lacey). The two become friends and enjoy discussing their favorite books together. Things become a bit more exciting when the brothers of the two girls arrive. Eleanor falls for Catherine’s brother, James (Philip Bird) and John (Jonathan Coy), who is Eleanor’s brother falls for Catherine. But Catherine has met a young minister, Henry (Peter Firth) and fallen for him. Catherine is set on finding happiness, but will it elude her? |
