| Plot |
| The Hicks family of Midsomer Parva celebrate when the name of their ancestor Tommy Hicks, who was shot for cowardice at the Battle of the Somme in the First World War, is added to the local war memorial. But the local military Hammond family is not so pleased, as it was one of their members who was in the firing squad. The drunken prank of a mock trial and execution of the domineering elderly Col Henry Hammond goes wrong, and results in his death. Other members of the Hammond family then die before Barnaby and Jones can penetrate the depths of the long-standing feud between the two families. |
